Hybrid magnesium matrix composites: A review of reinforcement philosophies, mechanical and tribological characteristics

Abstract Magnesium hybrid composites are a new class of lightweight metal matrix having excellent physical, mechanical, wear and corrosive properties. Hybrid magnesium fabricated using different combinations reinforcements basics properties like resistance high strength ceramics, self-lubricating graphite, MoS 2 , CNT, graphene, thermal conductivity carbon, diamond, cubic boron nitride, low cost fly ash. This article presents an overview used for fabrication their effects on the mechanical tribological materials. The major issues agglomeration, interfacial phenomena, reinforcement–matrix bonding, problems related to uniform distribution particles discussed in this article. have potential satisfying recent demands aerospace, automobile, biomedical, defense, marine, electronics industries. future directions research areas field also highlighted.
